The ISU Redbirds release their 2008-2009 season schedule today. The schedule features 3 exhibition games, 18 home games (13 of 18 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum), and 18 road games.

The Illinois State IceBirds will take the ice on Monday January 14, to begin their preparation for a two game homestand against Purdue on January 25 and 26, at the Pepsi Ice Center in Bloomington. The IceBirds currently are seated in second place behind Loyola - two games out of the first place slot, with Loyola having played two more league games than the IceBirds. The two teams split games earlier in head to head play. The IceBirds are eager to get back on the ice and continue their road to the MCHL Playoffs.

Please note that the Icebirds practice schedule for Tuesday and Thursday is 10:15pm. This late start time will require that you be prepared for classes prior to practice. We will complete practice at 11:30pm, leaving little study time after practice. Focus will be on preparation for University of Wisconsin-Platteville this coming weekend. ISU Icebirds currently hold the 2nd place slot in the MCHL, behind Loyola. UWP, Purdue and Rober Morris College are the 3 remaining teams that the Icebirds will face in the MCHL.
